Crafted from black walnut salvaged from the yard of Las Vegas, New Mexico artist Bob Reed, this hall table preserves the character of a tree that stood for roughly 120 years before succumbing to the drought of 2015.

Crafted from black walnut salvaged from the yard of Las Vegas, New Mexico artist Bob Reed, this hall table preserves the character of a tree that stood for roughly 120 years before succumbing to the drought of 2015.
The wood, Juglans nigra (black walnut), retains its natural grain and aging patterns, shaped into a refined slab measuring 65 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 3 inches thick. The piece stores an estimated ~12–15 kg of carbon, equivalent to roughly ~45–55 kg of CO₂ captured and retained within the wood.
Constructed for long-term stability and finished with a hand-rubbed lacquer system, each piece is digitally documented to preserve the history of the tree and its transformation.
