Crafted from black walnut recovered after the Little Bear Fire in Ruidoso, New Mexico (2012), this waterfall bench preserves the character of a tree estimated to be approximately 150 years old.
The wood, Juglans nigra (black walnut), retains natural grain movement and fire character, stabilized with metal flake epoxy and turquoise inlays. Formed as a continuous waterfall, the grain flows uninterrupted from seat to leg, emphasizing the natural movement of the tree.
Constructed for long-term structural stability and finished with a hand-rubbed lacquer system, each piece is digitally documented to preserve the history of the tree, the fire, and its transformation.
